If you missed the news, Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath is out now on the Switch via the Nintendo eShop. But there’s a physical edition that is now available for pre-order at Amazon.
Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath was first released back in 2005 on the original Xbox. It was later ported to PC and PS3. A Wii U version was planned but ultimately never released.
Unlike past Oddworld titles that focused on platforming, Stranger’s Wrath is part action-adventure, part first-person shooter, part puzzle game. Of course, the game is totally zany, as you’d expect from an Oddworld title.
You play as a bounty hunter named Stranger. Throughout the game, you capture outlaws and collect their bounties. One of the more interesting aspects of the game is the weapon system, which uses living animals – like insects – as ammunition.
The physical edition of the Switch version is scheduled to release in April. It will retail for $29.99, which is the same price as the digital version.
