Sony announced today that PlayStation Now will soon support 1080p game streaming.
According to a tweet from the official PlayStation account:
PlayStation Now will begin rolling out support for streaming 1080p capable games this week. The rollout will occur over the next several weeks across Europe, US, Canada, and Japan.
The streaming service currently caps games at 720p. So the boost to 1080p for games that support it will be a noticeable upgrade. This puts it more in line with competitors like Google Stadia and Amazon Luna.
However, Sony has not yet confirmed which PlayStation Now games will support streaming at 1080p resolution. We’ll let you know when we find out more information. In the meantime, subscribe to our daily newsletter to stay in the loop!
