PlayStation VR2 is coming out early 2023

PlayStation VR2

The second installment of Sony’s virtual reality headset is considerably more powerful than the first one.

We will soon enter the last quarter of the year. This means that confirmations of release dates and new releases for next year will start coming in like hotcakes. In addition, Gamescom 2022 has brought to light confirmations that we were expecting months ago.

One of these is the confirmation of the release date for the PlayStation VR2. The new PSVR 2 – which is almost double the power of its predecessors – will arrive sooner than we imagined.

A technology in constant evolution

The announcement of the new DualSense Edge wireless controller for PS5 and the price increase of the PlayStation 5 console have overshadowed another big announcement from the company. Despite having been confirmed prior to Gamescom, we finally know the arrival date of the PlayStation VR2.

Previously here on Game Freaks 365, we brought you the announcement of this amazing VR headset. The PlayStation VR2 headset for PlayStation 5 will have an OLED display with 4K resolution and HDR, a haptic response system in the headset, eye-movement tracking, and more!

This is looking to be the next big release from PlayStation. Therefore, accompanying its launch, it was also announced that Horizon Call of the Mountain will be the first exclusive of this new technology. In addition, it is rumored that the DualSense Edge wireless controller can be used together with the PSVR2 as another motion controller.

The good thing is that we won’t have to wait too long to find out if this is true. The PlayStation VR2 will arrive in the first quarter of 2023 worldwide. So far, we have had no further updates on gameplay. Hopefully, before the year ends we will see a video showing how PSVR2 works.
