The “generational” leap we were all hoping for

After the last Pokémon experience, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players were left with a bad taste in their mouths. From gameplay problems to poor graphical performance, Pokémon Legends: Arceus left a lot to be desired among the community that was waiting for the next generation’s leap in Pokémon games.

Therefore, when it was announced that two new games were on the way, the hopes of finding that new generational leap were still present. Even though The Pokémon Company was focused on the company’s own goals, the influence of the players is present.

Still, the company has not failed to surprise fans with this new trailer. They will finally be able to experience the “generational” leap they were asking for – from graphics to gameplay.

An open world

The Pokémon Company has never really paid attention to the players. But, in the last few installments, they have proven otherwise. If there is one good thing that Pokémon Legends: Arceus (as well as Pokémon Sword and Shield) have left behind, it has undoubtedly been the open world.

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet

The open world in a Pokémon game has been a thought that has been present since the early days of the franchise. As we can see in this new trailer, The Pokémon Company has confirmed that we will once again have an open world. Expect everything from mountains to beaches. In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, a new region awaits us!

Cooperative mode

If we want to talk about something negative about Pokémon games, it is impossible not to mention the multiplayer mode. Despite the various changes that this element of the game has undergone, it is still a very archaic system – from how we connect with other players to the battles between them. It’s a system that had to receive a change.

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet

To the surprise of many, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet will see new changes in the multiplayer section. Now up to 4 friends will be able to join your Pokémon adventure through the network. This way, you will be able to explore the new region of the game, exchange Pokémon, battle, do “special” missions, and much more with friends.

Exclusive professors depending on the version you purchase

In case you didn’t already know, it has been confirmed that this new region will be based in Spain. In addition, the versions of the game are based on the past and the future. Scarlet reflects the past, and Violet the future.  So, The Pokémon Company once again placed a detail of those that surprise the fans.

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet

Something that we have seen in the trailer is that there will be two teachers in the game. This, depending on the game you buy, you will have one exclusively. If you choose Pokémon Scarlet, there will be Professor Sada, which in Spanish refers to the word “pasado” (past in English); and in Pokémon Violet, there will be Professor Turo, which in Spanish refers to the “futuro” (future in English).

It is not the first time that The Pokémon Company puts details like this. Still, it’s impressive how the development team manages to sneak such details into their titles.

Nemona, the trainer that will accompany us during the journey

We all remember Gary Oak, the grandson of Professor Oak, who has been the most recognized adversary of the franchise. Well, in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, there will be no difference. Nemona, will be our character’s friend, and the new adversary that arrives in the Pokémon franchise.

As we can see in the trailer, Nemona looks like a cheerful and energetic young woman who will make us suffer in Pokémon battles. Although, she will be an experienced trainer. So, instead of just playing the role of our adversary, she will play more of the role of a guide in both games. It’s a very different approach from the company, which can go very well (or very poorly).

Koraidon y Miraidon

Every element that The Pokémon Company shared in the new trailer has been to highlight. All these new changes, plus everything new that this new generation will bring are shocking. And at the same time, positive for the franchise. But, undoubtedly the most remarkable of this new trailer, has been the presentation of the new legendaries: Koraidon and Miraidon.

Following the theme of time, these legendaries give more sense to this approach made by The Pokémon Company. Koraidon is the Pokémon that will represent Pokémon Scarlet. If we analyze its appearance, it can be fire/dark type. On the other hand, Miraidon, will be the Pokémon that represents Pokémon Violet.

This Pokémon also refers to the idea behind this edition of the game. Miraidon has a futuristic look that, if we analyze its appearance in-depth, can be dragon/fairy or fairy/watter type. In addition, different unofficial sources speak of a third legendary. Officially, nothing is known yet, although it is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

The game will arrive this year as promised

The most important announcement made today about both games has not been any of the elements we have previously mentioned. After being presented in February, only one thing was asked by all the players: When will it finally come out?

Well, the team at The Pokémon Company has confirmed that the game will be released on November 18th of this year for the Nintendo Switch. Plus, pre-orders are open now on Amazon.

So, if you are a Pokémon fan, get ready to live an amazing end of the year playing the new title of the franchise that plans to change the game for good.
