Pokémon Unite is coming to Nintendo Switch next week

The Pokémon Company and TiMi Studio Group announced today that Pokémon Unite will launch July 21 on the Nintendo Switch. A mobile version is coming at a later date.

The date was announced via the Pokémon Unite Twitter account. To commemorate the release, players who log in to the Nintendo Switch version before August 31, 2021 will receive a Unite license for Zeraora, allowing Trainers to use the Pokémon in battle.

Zeraora, like lightning, can close the gap between itself and its opponents in the blink of an eye and deal massive amounts of damage all at once. Plasma Gale, its Unite Move, fires a powerful electric blast that creates a plasma zone around the area where the blast lands.

Pokémon Unite is the first Pokémon strategic team battle game from the franchise. Players compete against each other in 5-on-5 team battles. During these battles, players will work together with their teammates to defeat wild Pokémon and level up in order to evolve their own. They must defeat their opponents’ Pokémon while attempting to earn more points than the opposing team within the time limit.

Pokémon UNITE is a free-to-play game with optional in-game purchases that will be released on July 21 for the Nintendo Switch. The game’s mobile version will be available in September 2021. You can click here to learn more about the game ahead of its launch.
