Prey 2 Not Cancelled, Release Date Unknown

After much speculation about Prey 2 being cancelled, Bethesda released a statement today announcing that the game is still in fact in development. Prey 2 was scheduled to be released this year, despite originally being announced a full three years ago in 2009. Apparent quality concerns have delayed the title indefinitely.

“Development of Prey 2 has not been cancelled but the game will not be released in 2012 as planned. The delay is due to the fact that game development has not progressed satisfactorily this past year, and the game does not currently meet our quality standards,” a statement from Bethesda reads. “Prey 2 has shown great promise and we regret disappointing our fans. We have made a substantial investment in game development to deliver the experience fans want.”
