PS3 Sales Up 128%, Wii 106% in November 2007

The November numbers are in and there is reason for each company to be happy. Sony and Nintendo saw major increases over last year. The PlayStation 3 was up 128% over November 2006’s sales, while Nintendo Wii was up a full 106%. Xbox 360 sales increased by a modest 50%. On the handheld side, PSP had the smallest increase at 38% and Nintendo DS was up 66%. Here are the actual sales numbers in order:

1. Nintendo DS – 1.53 million
2. Nintendo Wii – 981,000
3. Xbox 360 – 770,000
4. PlayStation Portable – 567,000
5. PlayStation 2 – 496,000
6. PlayStation 3 – 466,000

On the software side Call of Duty 4 was the biggest seller, managing 1.57 million on Xbox 360 alone and combined sales of 2.014 million. Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii debuted to successful sales at #2 with 1.12 million units sold. Assassin’s Creed also had a big month, selling a combined 1.357 million copies on PS3 and Xbox 360. Guitar Hero III for Xbox 360 dropped out of the charts this month, although both the PS2 and Wii versions remain with combined sales of 1.354 million.
