It has been over 24 hours and the PlayStation Network still remains down. The cause of the outage was not reported, although on their blog, the company states that: “While we are investigating the cause of the Network outage, we wanted to alert you that it may be a full day or two before we’re able to get the service completely back up and running. Thank you very much for your patience while we work to resolve this matter. Please stay tuned to this space for more details, and we’ll update you again as soon as we can.”
The outage affects everything related to the PlayStation Network. Users are unable to play any games online and some have even reported that they have been unable to play offline games as well. Certain Capcom games require an active connection to PSN in order to be playable, even if the user is only playing offline. We will have more information on the outage and when PSN is expected to go back online once it becomes available.
