PSN Won’t Be Restored This Weekend

The seemingly never-ending PSN saga continues into its third week with the system still offline. The company promised that PSN would be up this past week, but as of early Sunday morning, the system remains down. It looks like that will be the case for at least the next few days. The news comes just two days after the company announced that they would be extending identity theft protection to PSN users.

Sony announced on their official blog that they’ve begun “restoring the service through internal testing of the new system. We’re still working to confirm the security of the network infrastructure, as well as working with a variety of outside entities to confirm with them of the security of the system. Verifying the system security is vital for the process of restoration. Additional comprehensive system checks and testing are still required, and we must complete that process before bringing the systems online.”
