PSP Target Missed for Holidays?

Given the latest news that the PlayStation Portable managed only 360,000 for the month of November (compared to 380,000 Nintendo DS’ sold), even after the release of Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, it is hard to imagine Sony making their end-of-the-year target that they predicted in October. In an article published on October 21, we reported that Sony “hopes to sell 2.5 to 3 million units by the end of the year”, doubling its installed base.

With the news that it could not even crack 500,000 in America for November, it is hard to see them reaching their projected target that they made in October, even taking into account the 90 some thousand PSP’s they sell in Japan every week, which should be noted is also fewer than DS’. We’ll keep you updated on all of the latest sales information from the big players in the industry as it becomes available.
