The studio behind PUBG announced during today’s Inside Xbox event at Gamescom 2019 that the battle royale game is getting cross-platform play between the PS4 and Xbox One versions of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
The developers say that cross-platform play has been “hands down, the most requested feature since we launched on consoles, and we’re so happy to finally provide this for our console community.”
The company hopes to make cross-platform play available for testing on the PUBG Public Test Server beginning in late September. They say that it will hit live servers in early October.
PUBG Season 4 launches on August 27 for consoles. It is already available on PC. Going forward, PUBG Corp. says that they are taking steps “towards creating a unified experience with faster console updates.” Subsequent console updates will land two weeks after PC.
