Ratchet & Clank 20th Anniversary celebrated with free DLC and classic games on PS Plus

Insomniac Games is celebrating the Ratchet & Clank 20th anniversary with new DLC and classic games on PlayStation Plus.

Can you believe that the original Ratchet & Clank came out twenty years ago? I certainly can’t; I remember playing what was at the time a genuinely unique and entertaining take on platformers. They were some of the best platformers of the PlayStation 2 generation – indeed, of the 3D era.

Well, Insomniac Games is marking the occasion in style. Literally, you can wear stylish new armor as part of the 20th Anniversary Armor Pack. The new Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart DLC is completely free and available via a game update.

The pack includes five armors that draw inspiration from the franchise’s history:

  • Commando Armor (Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando)
  • Holoflux Armor (Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time)
  • Quest Armor (Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty)
  • Marauder Armor (Ratchet: Deadlocked)
  • Clank Armor for Ratchet to look like Clank

Classic R&C coming to PlayStation Plus

That’s not all. The company is bringing the original Ratchet & Clank as well as the other PlayStation 2 R&C games to PlayStation Plus. They’re bringing the PS3 remasters to the service along with Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction.

The classics coming to PlayStation Plus Premium on November 15 include:

  • Ratchet & Clank (PS3)
  • Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando (PS3)
  • Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal (PS3)
  • Ratchet & Clank: Deadlocked (PS3)
  • Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction (PS3)

In addition, you can currently play these R&C games on PlayStation Plus Premium:
