Rockstar Games announced today that Red Dead Online – the online component of Red Dead Redemption 2 – is becoming a standalone game.

“For the first time, new players who do not already own Red Dead Redemption 2 can experience everything Red Dead Online has to offer, including access to all future content updates,” Rockstar says.

The standalone game is available to purchase from the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Games Launcher, Epic Games Store, and Steam starting on December 1. With a 75 percent off launch discount, fans can buy it for $4.99. The discount lasts until February 15, 2021.

PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold / Game Pass Ultimate are required to play. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions are playable via backward compatibility on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It requires up to 123GB of free space.
