Red Dead Redemption 2 is out now on Steam. The PC version is out a year after the game’s highly successful launch on PS4 and Xbox One. However, the Steam launch appears to be going less smoothly.
The Steam version is having some apparent issues at launch. It’s currently receiving mixed reviews from users on Steam. Several of the user reviews note that the game crashes for them at startup. There’s no mention of any solutions on Rockstar Games’ official Twitter account.
In addition to Steam, the game requires users to have a Rockstar Games Social Club account and Rockstar Games Launcher. Users who lost access to a previously-linked Rockstar Social Club account are apparently unable to play the game.
Aside from Steam, the game launched on the recently-released Rockstar Games Launcher and Epic Games Store last month, both of which have had issues as well. It is also available on Google Stadia as a launch title on that platform.

Like its predecessors, Red Dead Redemption 2 is a third-person action-adventure game set in the West. The game has an expansive open-world environment and features both single-player and online multiplayer components.
Hopefully, the issues with the Steam version will be resolved quickly. In the meantime, you might want to hold off getting this title on Steam until Rockstar irons out the kinks!
