There’s a wide range of late 20th-century and early 21st-century guns for the player to use in Red Dead Redemption 2, and revolvers are a fan-favorite weapon type. Here are all of the revolvers in Red Dead Redemption 2, ranked.
It’s worth noting that this list will only include revolvers from the single-player mode. Every weapon on this list is customizable. This list will not include Unique revolvers, as they have only minor improvements versus their common counterparts.

4. Cattleman Revolver
This revolver is available since the start of the game, and it offers average damage, okayish range, moderate reload speed, and a good fire rate. This is a good-looking gun that’s based on the Colt Single-Action Army “Peacemaker” revolver, which was the most popular handgun in the Wild West era.
In real life, Pat Garret used a Colt SAA to kill Billy the Kid. It’s truly a legendary gun, despite being the least powerful revolver in RDR2.
3. Double-Action Revolver
The Double-Action revolver will be available in gunsmiths after completing Chapter 3. This gun’s speciality is its very high fire rate, and it doesn’t require cocking the hammer in order to fire continuously. Other than that, the gun offers rather low damage, moderate range, and average reload speed. Its accuracy is somewhat low as well, and it’s mostly because of how fast it fires.
This gun is based on the Colt 1892 Army and Navy Revolver.
In the game, Micah Bell wields two unique Double-Action revolvers with deadly speed and precision. He truly takes care of his guns, and he wields no other firearm for the most part of the game.
2. LeMat Revolver
This is an unusual revolver. It can hold 9 rounds instead of the usual 6 rounds which a revolver can hold. There’s also a Shotgun that’s “attached” to the LeMat, and it can fire a single shotgun slug. This is a powerful revolver with High damage and great range, but a low fire rate and reload speed.

You can get this gun in Saint-Denis after completing The Gilded Cage mission in Chapter 4.
This gun was based on the unusual firearm of the same name manufactured by the French physicist, Jean Alexandre LeMat.

The Schofield is the most reliable revolver in the game. It’s very balanced. It offers a decent fire rate, damage, reload speed, and range. It’s also very accurate and can kill most human enemies with one well-aimed shot to a vital point. This gun will serve you excellently. That’s why it is ranked as the top Red Dead Redemption 2 revolvers.
The Schofield Revolver is based on the Smith and Wesson Model 3 and was named after Major George W. Schofield. This was an extremely popular revolver in the Wild West. Legendary gunslingers like Jesse James, Wyatt Earp and even John Wesley Hardin were said to have wielded Schofield Revolvers.
In the game, you might’ve seen Dutch van der Linde skillfully and stylishly wield dual Schofield revolvers.
