Remember the 90s Sonic Cartoons? Steve Urkel Actor Jaleel White Voiced Sonic

Sonic the Hedgehog was a big hit when it landed on the Sega Genesis in 1991. The blue hedgehog was a goldmine for Sega, spawning countless video games, merchandise and a hit television cartoon.

What you might not have known is that Sonic was voiced by Jaleel White, who is best known for his acting role as Steve Urkel in the sitcom Family Matters. It’s not something that you probably would have ever guessed just watching the cartoon. White provided voice acting for three separate Sonic the Hedgehog animated series in the 90s: Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Sonic Underground.
