Resident Evil 4 Passes 500K

Resident Evil 4, the survival horror masterpiece for the Nintendo GameCube, has sold more than 500,000 copies. The game will be available for the Sony PlayStation 2 this fall. According to NPD, the game passed 500,000 in April, after a strong number one position in the monthly charts for the month of January. The cumulative numbers only represent the United States and Canada.

In the United States and Canada, 1.5 million units of Resident Evil, Resident Evil 4, and Resident Evil Zero have been purchased, making them the top three Mature rated games for the GameCube. The Resident Evil franchise has sold more than 26 million units worldwide, making it Capcom’s highest selling series.
