Resident Evil Village photo mode adds Capcom copyright watermark

Resident Evil Village photo mode

A photo mode done right can add real value to a game. I don’t doubt that a lot of people will use the photo mode in Resident Evil Village, but it has one notable annoyance.

If you’re like me and you have an interest in photography both in real-life and video games, you’ll spend a lot of time getting the perfect shot. Video games are art and in-game photography is an art as well.

So when you get the perfect shot and an unremovable copyright watermark shows up, it’s not exactly welcome. As you can see from the screenshot above, that’s exactly what happens in the Resident Evil Village photo mode.

My Take

Someone in Capcom’s legal department went way overboard here. It would be nice if they released a patch that removes the unwanted and unnecessary watermark.
