Resident Evil Village’s ‘ReVerse’ multiplayer delayed until summer

Resident Evil ReVerse

It looks like Resident Evil ReVerse is not coming alongside the release of Resident Evil Village, after all.

Resident Evil Village is still coming out in May – just as we mentioned before at Game Freaks 365. But as we can see from the webpage that Capcom dedicated to the multiplayer of the game, Resident Evil Re:Verse is going to be delayed until “summer 2021.” The multiplayer game is included with Village for free.

It looks like Capcom wants to ensure that the multiplayer is stable and bug-free, so that’s why they delayed the drop of the multiplayer content. This is a stand-alone experience separate from the main game that is a kind of short story set within the world of Village.

At least eager players were able to get their hands on the new Resident Evil game courtesy of a demo. The demo provided a sneak peek of the mysterious and beautiful Castle Dimitrescu. However, the demo only focused on Village. Meanwhile, ReVerse is currently in closed beta.

My Take

We hope that Capcom will put out the best experience possible with this delay of Resident Evil ReVerse. Unfortunately, the series does not have a great track record with multiplayer. While we wait for it, all players can grab the main game that will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X on May 7, 2021.
