Retro Studios updates its Twitter banner, giving hints of Metroid Prime 4

Metroid Prime 4

What could have been a simple mistake or wishful thinking of the community could mean the unleashing of something big.

Retro Studios has been working on Metroid Prime 4 for more than three years, which has been known for quite some time. Due to delays in production and a worldwide pandemic in the meantime, we have received very little information regarding Samus Aran’s next journey.

However, a recent update to the studio’s official Twitter account suggests that we may be closer than ever to seeing this title for the first time. (And it’s definitely still in development since Retro Studios has posted job listings throughout 2021.)

Radio silence

Retro Studios is notorious for not being very active on social media. Despite the fact that their Twitter account was launched in 2014, they only have about 400 tweets. The studio’s community manager updated the banner photo overnight. What is the significance of this modification? It’s a silhouette of our beloved Samus Aran, to be precise.

As you can see, the image isn’t very clear, and you can hardly make out what you’re looking at other than Samus’ recognizable silhouette. There was a picture with the Retro Studios emblem before this new banner, something basic and familiar as the studio is commonly recognized.

Given that the studio has been hard at work on it for several years, we wouldn’t be shocked if, in the months leading up to E3, we get to see the Metroid Prime 4 in motion for the first time. But nothing is confirmed at this time, and the banner might simply be an aesthetic update. So stay tuned!
