Ridge Racer Returning to PSP

Ridge Racer launched on the PlayStation Portable over a year ago, earning an 8.5 out of 10 in our review of the game, and remaining one of the better games on the system. Now it appears that a sequel is in the works from the folks at Namco. With such a long drought of good games (though sales of the PSP remain strong in the U.S.), this writer is glad to see something finally making its way to U.S. shores. But first it goes to Japan…

IGN broke the news, saying: “Ridge Racers 2 continues where the PSP launch title left off, complete with a return of the nitro system, as well as all the drift-based racing that makes the series what it is. Ridge Racers 2 adds a number of new modes to the original. In addition to the World Tours, Time Attack and Wireless Battle (still with 8 player ad-hoc support) from the original, you can now take part in Arcade, Duel and Survival modes.”
