Rose arrives in Street Fighter V: Champion Edition

Rose makes her long-awaited arrival in Street Fighter V: Champion Edition.

Rose, the iconic fortune teller character, is joining the fight today as the newest addition for Season 5 of Street Fighter V: Champion Edition. She was first shown during the “Street Fighter V Spring Update” digital program on YouTube.

Following the February launch of Dan Hibiki, Rose is the second character to enter the ring fight as an element of the fifth and final season of Street Fighter V: Champion Edition.

Rose is coming strong

Rose was first introduced in Street Fighter Alpha and has been a staple in the series ever since, appearing in many games from the franchise. For her introduction in Street Fighter V: Champion Edition, Capcom updated the soul-powered maven with new tricks up her sleeve.

Rose has several powerful moves that long-time Street Fighter fans will recognize. Rose’s “Soul Satellite” returns as a V-Skill from Street Fighter IV, allowing her to summon orbs and place pressure on her adversaries.

Her “Soul Illusion” from the Street Fighter Alpha series reappears as a V-Trigger, spawning a mirrored Rose who performs the same attack as she does, inflicting massive damage. Rose also has a new set of moves, such as her “Soul Fortune” V-Skill, which allows her to draw one of four tarot cards to buff or debuff herself or her opponents.

This new skill opens up a new dimension of game mechanics for players, allowing them to choose whether to play offensively or defensively depending on the tide of battle. Rose’s latest V-Trigger move is “Soul Dimension,” which allows her to teleport to one of three locations on the screen, giving her more combo options.

How to get Rose

Players can acquire Rose with the Season 5 Character Pass or the Season 5 Premium Pass available for Street Fighter V: Champion Edition. She can also be purchased separately for $5.99 or 100k Fight Money.

Furthermore, Rose’s brand new stage, Marina of Fortune, is based on her Street Fighter 2 Alpha stage. It is available for $3.99 or 70k Fight Money.

Oro and Akira coming this summer

Aside from Rose, the “Street Fighter V Spring Update” revealed new info and gameplay footage of Oro and Akira, two upcoming characters set to release in summer 2021. Capcom will reveal more details about these characters and the fifth unannounced Season 5 character later in the year.
