Rovio is partnering with K-Swiss for Angry Birds 10th anniversary sneakers

It seems kind of hard to believe, but back in December 2009, Rovio released the first Angry Birds game.

Ten years later, Angry Birds games have been downloaded over four billion times. The series has spawned countless offshoot products, including two movies that have grossed nearly $500 million so far (and counting).

The latest product partnership is with the footwear company K-Swiss. Rovio and K-Swiss plan to release 10th-anniversary Angry Birds sneakers. The limited-edition run will feature two designs, available in child and youth sizes.

“The custom kicks pay homage to the evolution of the Angry Birds characters such as Red, Chuck, and Bomb, who have undergone quite a lot of changes in the last ten years, flying from mobile devices, into licensed products, animations, and Hollywood movies,” Rovio says.

“There’s a huge demand for brand collaborations, especially with classic brands with deep emotional connections, so this is a perfect pairing,” says Barney Waters, the president of K-Swiss.

The shoes will be available starting in December, just in time for the holiday shopping season. We don’t yet know the price or the retailers that will carry it in stock.
