Scarlet Hollow, a game from the two-person indie dev studio Black Tabby Games, is getting its second episode next month.
This choice-driven horror adventure visual novel is coming to Steam on June 11, 2021. Scarlet Hollow was originally funded on Kickstarter, where it raised $81k with the support of 2,726 backers. The game features hand-drawn art and writing from award-winning graphic novelist Abby Howard (The Last Halloween, Junior Scientist Power Hour, The Crossroads at Midnight).
Scarlet Hollow proves not all horror games need jump scares or hyper-violent animations for them to work. In this game, you visit a dying Appalachian coal town to attend the funeral of your long-lost aunt and become embroiled in a generations-old mystery that threatens an entire village.
Scarlet Hollow has been critically acclaimed for its masterful blend of humor and horror. Episode 1 received “Very Positive” reviews from 98 percent of user reviews on Steam. A demo version of Episode 1 is currently available for free on Steam and itch.io.
