Screenshot of the Week: Scorn

Scorn is dividing critics, but there is absolutely no doubt that it is a moody game with a truly impressive environment as this screenshot shows.

The next-gen horror puzzle game Scorn launched a week early. Although it is receiving mixed reviews, it has delivered in building a creepy world that mixes horror and sci-fi in a way that Ridley Scott would be proud of. As you can see from the screenshot of the week, it is both horrifying and visually stunning.

This screenshot taken on my Xbox Series X console is from early in Scorn. It shows piles of dead bodies in a mysterious and cavernous Alien-like world. Okay, actually, it’s more like Prometheus. Anyway, I have just started, but I wanted to bring attention to how the environment lives up to the hype even as some criticize the gameplay.

Scorn is available now on PC and Xbox Series X|S. It’s free with Xbox Game Pass subscriptions. I haven’t finished playing it yet, but I am getting pretty close. So expect a review later this week!
