Sea of Thieves Season 2 lands next week

Sea of Thieves Season 2

Ahoy, pirates! Sea of Thieves Season 2 is about to land on PC and Xbox consoles.

After three years and over 15 million players, our friends at Rare just recently started a season system in Sea of Thieves. Season One started back in January 2021, bringing a new way of playing the game. Earn rewards when you build renown and tackle a trove of Trials and Deeds along the way. There’s a permanent new Voyage type for the Merchant Alliance, new and returning time-limited events, more freebies to grab through Twitch drops, and fresh Pirate Emporium stock including the Plunder Pass.

They added the season system to the game to bring more daily active players. We can see it worked in part thanks to Twitch, where we have streamers like Krotukk that have become Sea of Thieves players. This game’s success is fantastic; Rare seems like they are going hard with the second season, bringing more content to keep up the momentum.

What’s new in Season Two?

Thanks to a tweet from the Sea of Thieves Twitter account, we can see some of the new content that is coming in Season 2. Expect new clothing options and emotes, a complete ship set (that looks fantastic), newer skeletons curses, new hiding barrel content, and more. More experienced players can easily appreciate many more things.

When does Season Two launch?

Sea of Thieves Season 2 is making its way to PC and consoles on April 15. More info on this new update is expected in the next few days. If you live under a rock and don’t know the game – or you never gave it a chance – this is the time to check it out!
