Activision just confirmed that Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice sold 2 million copies in its first ten days on the market.
The sales milestone was reached across all platforms worldwide: PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The numbers are based on Activision and From Software internal estimates.
“Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has brought something very special and unique to Activision’s portfolio of games. It’s been an honor to work with FromSoftware to help introduce a brand-new franchise to gamers around the world,” Activision’s VP of Product Management and Marketing, Michelle Fonseca, said in a statement.
According to Activision, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice was the most-watched game on Twitch on launch day. More than 631 million minutes were watched on Twitch during the launch weekend alone, with 1.1 billion minutes watched within its first full week.
Game Freaks 365‘s Dylan Oliver gave Sekiro a 9 out of 10 in his review of the game. He calls it “a fitting successor for the Dark Souls mantle.”
“If you loved earning every brutal victory in Dark Souls, you’ll find the same masochistic enjoyment in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice,” Dylan writes.
