EastAsiaSoft today confirmed that they are bringing Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story to Nintendo Switch in 2020.
Sense is a 2.5D horror adventure game set in 2083 Neo Hong Kong, mixing cyberpunk with Cantonese folklore. The game draws inspiration from classic horror games on PS1 and PS2, such as the Clock Tower and Fatal Frame franchises.
It tells the story of Mei Lin Mak, a young woman who is dragged into a series of supernatural events. The developers want to create a “visceral” horror experience with a “slow, fearful creep of dread” instead of relying on cheap jump scares.
The game’s director, Benjamin Widdowson, is a concept artist with nearly a decade of experience. Sense: A Cyberpunk Ghost Story is the first game that he has started himself. He is building the game in Unity as part of the California-based indie studio Suzaku.
EastAsiaSoft is known for both physical and digital releases. However, they have only confirmed a digital release. We’ll let you know if they announce a physical edition.
