Shin Megami Tensei V launches on Nintendo Switch

Shin Megami Tensei V

After a long time receiving updates, gameplay teasers and more, the day has finally come to fight alongside the Nahobino.

Shin Megami Tensei V, one of the year’s most anticipated titles for the Switch, is now available exclusively on Nintendo’s device, according to Atlus and Sega of America.

The return of Shin Megami Tensei

Our protagonist’s journey home is stopped by a gory murder scene in modern-day Tokyo, which follows a little of the plot of the Shin Megami Tensei series. After an unexpected diversion burys him and renders him unconscious, he awakens in a new Tokyo, a wasteland ravaged by the apocalypse now known as Da’at.

Surrounded by savage demons out to retake his life, a rescuer appears, and they band together to become a powerful entity neither human nor demonic: a Nahobino. With his newfound power, the protagonist travels into Da’at, a mysterious region teeming with mythological deities and demonic dictators fighting for existence. To get answers, the protagonist must build his own path in a war between light and darkness to determine the fate of the planet.

Investigate the enormous post-apocalyptic Tokyo. As you construct an allusive plot full of tragic decisions, the game is fully rendered in gorgeous 3D utilizing Unreal Engine 4, a first for the core Shin Megami Tensei series. That is why you must make sacrifices in order to defend your values while you follow the light or crave the darkness in order to determine your place in the new world.

Digital Deluxe Edition

Fans of the game series or collectors seeking to add to their game collection will be able to do so with a digital Deluxe Edition, in addition to the standard digital edition. This version includes new digital material such as character enhancements, three demon subquests, and the “Return of the True Demon” subquest, which allows players to battle the nine legendary Fiends.

After conquering the demons, the struggle continues with the most powerful opponent of all: the Demi-fiend from Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne.

The regular version of the game costs $59.99 and is available via the eShop as well as partner shops such as Amazon, GameStop, and Walmart. The Digital Deluxe Edition is available for $84.99 on the Nintendo eShop. Meanwhile, the game’s DLC Bundle, which unlocks all the extra content, is also available for $26.99. The game is exclusive for the Nintendo Switch.
