The latest Skater XL update adds a new level of control for players and “numerous” gameplay improvements.
According to developer Easy Day Studios, the addition of powerslide and revert mechanics “opens a new layer of style and expression to gameplay, in addition to allowing players to better control speed.”
Among the other improvement are new motion-captured animations and remastered sound effects. They’ve also added replay clip length editing and camera speed refinement, as well as bug fixes. The new update is now available in Skater XL‘s Public Beta branch on Steam.
In addition to the update, all features tested from September’s Public Beta will be moved to the main public server. This includes the Encinitas Skatepark map, an updated character, map selector, replay editor and more.
Skater XL is currently available in Steam Early Access for $19.99. Humble Choice subscribers can save $4 on the game via the Humble Store. $2 goes to charity.
