After many years of requests, a mod finally brings co-op to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Despite being on the market for more than ten years, the popularity of Skyrim is still present. In fact, Skyrim, along with The Elder Scrolls Online, are the reason why we haven’t seen the next game in the series. Even so, Skyrim is already showing its age – although the mods are the reason for this extra life that the game has.
In these ten years, Skyrim mods have meant a lot for the game as well as for the community. In fact, many mods have been the reason for the success of renowned YouTubers. That is why the release of Skyrim Together, a co-op mod of the game, has become so popular among the community with over 50k downloads.
A long-awaited co-op game mode
Something that has penalized Skyrim, or The Elder Scrolls games, is its lack of co-op multiplayer. For years now, fans of the game have been clamoring for it officially. But it never became a reality. Therefore, once again, fans of the game focused on developing a mod that would add such an option to the title. That’s where Skyrim Together Reborn was born.

Skyrim Together Reborn is an open source mod for Skyrim based on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim: Special Edition. This mod adds the long-awaited co-op gameplay to the game. This has opened up a massive field of adventures that players have wanted for years. Still, the mod is not perfect at all.
One limitation is that we can’t take advantage of virtual reality. Although the base game, today, has VR support, this mod is not yet available. Likewise, being open source, it is a matter of time before it is finally available.

In addition, the creators of the mod have shared through the mod’s comments that there is still work to be done. There is still work to be done on new APIs, implement new features, solve some bugs that players have found, and much more. All this, while the development team finalizes the expected Fallout Together, which seeks to implement the same co-op mode in the Fallout game.
