Slay the Princess is part psychological horror, dark comedy, and visual novel. It looks like a unique take on the genre.
You’re tasked with slaying a princess before she can end the entire world, which is allegedly something she is going to do unless you manage to stop her. There’s a lot of branching in this one, with the story taking some very dramatic turns right away based on your early decisions.
The game is fully voice-acted. So you can enjoy the story without wading through endless text. Jonathan Sims and Nichole Goodnight provided their voice talent as they bring this visual novel to life.
The indie studio behind Slay the Princess also has a fully-fleshed-out demo that they have made available to alpha testers on Patreon. Abby Howard, the indie developer behind the project, says that the demo is available “soon” for the general public.
“We’re really proud of the work we’ve been doing with Slay the Princess,” Abby says. “We’re so grateful for your support!”
Slay the Princess is expected to launch on PC via Steam in 2023. You can wishlist the game on Steam.
