The official Sonic The Hedgehog 2 movie Twitter account has shared a new poster for the movie, which opens on April 8. Although it may not sound relevant to many, Sonic fans have been quick to go viral among the gaming community thanks to its resemblance to the cover of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Genesis.
Nostalgia for the good ol’ games
It’s not the first time we’ve seen something like this from the publicity team behind the movie. About a month ago, the team behind the movie shared via IGN a poster that reminds gamers of the home screen of the first Sonic game. Now, they have shared a new poster where they have been inspired in its entirety from the cover of the beloved Sega Genesis classic.
Although some fans of the series were disappointed with the first movie, it was a good movie that invited many people to play Sonic games for the first time. With this new movie on the way, many of the fans who were disappointed with the first movie have changed their minds as it is clear that the film’s team is working to make this sequel a better film.
Sonic The Hedgehog 2 will hit theaters on April 8, 2022.
