Sony Cracks Down on PS3 Game Sharing

Sony has been known for friendly policies with their PSN online service which allows gamers to play games for free, chat with friends and stream Netflix. The games sold in the PlayStation Store can even be shared amongst five different PS3 systems where the PSN account is registered. This undoubtedly has led to friends and family members exploiting the lax policy.

That is about to change starting November 18. The company will limit game sharing to two PS3 consoles and two PSP systems. They say that it will not affect games purchased prior to the November 18 system update. The company will also make available a website where users can manage which devices they want active similar to the way Netflix works.
