Sony Promises Fix of Backwards Compatible Games

Sony said today that they are working to correct glitches on backwards compatible games from their PlayStation and PlayStation 2 that do not run properly on the PlayStation 3. Of the more than 8,000 PlayStation and PS2 games that will play on the PS3, about 200 have had problems, mostly related to audio. Sony Computer Entertainment America President and Chief Executive, Kaz Hirai, says that: “We are aiming for perfect compatibility. Our goal is 100 percent compatibility. We are trying to get there as quickly as possible.” The fix will come through firmware upgrades downloaded from the Internet.
