Sony reveals PS5 user interface

With just a few weeks left until launch, Sony took some time this morning to show off the PS5’s user interface.

“One of the highlights is a new Control Center, which provides immediate access to almost everything you need from the system at a single press of the PlayStation button on the DualSense wireless controller – all without leaving the game,” Sony says.

The Control Center also has cards with recent stories for games, recently-created content like screenshots, and activities. The activities let you see your progress in and resume levels in games like Sackboy: A Big Adventure.

The activities also give you the ability to find in-game help for game objectives. Hints may include videos that you can view without leaving the game. Cards can be placed side-by-side with the game screen. So it’s possible to watch the help video on a sidebar while playing the game.

PlayStation 5 is scheduled to launch on November 12, just two days after Xbox Series X. There are two PS5 models: one with a Blu-ray disc drive and another disc-less all-digital model. The design is slightly different, but the gameplay experience is the same.
