Taito and Inin Games are bringing Space Invaders Forever to the Nintendo Switch and PS4 next month.
Space Invaders Forever is a compilation of three different games. It includes Space Invaders Extreme, Space Invaders Gigamax 4 SE, and Arkanoid vs Space Invaders. We have more details on each of the games below.
Space Invaders Extreme
According to Inin Games, Space Invaders Extreme features “greatly improved graphics” and “interactive sound” for an immersive experience. Space Invaders Extreme comes with 16 stages including some fiendish boss fights. The game has both a Free Play mode and Arcade Mode.
Space Invaders Gigamax 4 SE
This game lets you team up with up to three other friends to shoot down the invaders. The goal here is to clear the stages as fast as possible. This brand new four-player coop experience offers new stages, gimmicks, and new music from Taito’s in-house sound team Zuntata.
Arkanoid vs Space Invaders
Taito is behind another arcade king: Arkanoid. So it’s a fitting union when two of Taito’s most notorious series come together in Arkanoid vs Space Invaders. The crossover combines elements from both arcade classics.
Players control the Arkanoid Vaus paddle ship to defeat waves of invaders. The game features 150 stages and 40 different Taito characters to unlock, each with their own unique abilities. All told, there are more than 20 different skills, including power-ups and protective fire.
Space Invaders Forever is available both digitally and physically starting on December 11. The digital version is coming to the Nintendo eShop and PlayStation Store. You can pre-order the physical version on PS4 and Nintendo Switch at Amazon.
