The first major update to Spellbreak is coming on December 15. It’s called Chapter 1: The Spellstorm.
Chapter 1 introduces free, story-driven quests into the core gameplay of Spellbreak. In addition to the new update, Spellbreak also launches on Steam this month, indie studio Proletariat announced.
Players will take part in 12 weeks of quests. Over the course of this storyline, players will meet three new NPC characters and watch as the game world changes week over week.
“Explore the new Deadmoss as Castle Bogmore and its surrounding region has been completely overhauled with vastly improved environments and points of interest,” the developer says.
Chapter 1: The Spellstorm also features new cosmetic items as well as an enhanced chapter progression system with reputation bonuses featuring 50 levels of rewards, gold, and more.
Spellbreak is a free-to-play action battle royale with spellcasting. It came out in September on PC via Epic Games Store, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. The game supports cross-progression and crossplay.
