Star Fox 2, Super Punch-Out among six games coming to Nintendo Switch Online

This month’s free NES games for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers include Star Fox 2, Super Punch-Out, and more.

Star Fox 2, Super Punch-Out, Kirby Super Star, and Breath of Fire II are being added as part of the SNES lineup. Journey to Silius and Crystalis are being added to the NES lineup in December 2019.

Star Fox 2 was originally intended for release on the SNES, but it was canceled due to the launch of the Nintendo 64. At the time, the game was complete, and it never saw the light of day until Nintendo included it as part of the SNES Classic Edition.

Super Punch-Out is the other headliner of the batch. First released for the SNES in 1994, the boxing game puts players in the shoes of Little Mac as he fights his way to the top. Super Punch-Out was also included as part of the SNES Classic Edition.

The games will be released on December 12 and are free to download for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. Not a subscriber? A 12-month subscription of Nintendo Switch Online costs $20 a year.
