Ryu, Chun-Li, Ken, and a host of legendary characters from the franchise are back soon.
Capcom has revealed Street Fighter 6, the latest version of one of the two-dimensional combat genre’s most iconic intellectual properties, on Monday. They introduced Street Fighter 6 with a new trailer at the Capcom Pro Tour 2021 Season Final.
Street Fighter 6 is looking to reclaim the throne it gained with the fourth game, a throne that was lost during the previous generation of consoles because of the excellent work of studios such as Arc System Works with Dragon Ball FighterZ and Guilty Gear Strive.
Classic characters return
A conflict between Ryu and Luke is shown in the teaser. Luke, the 45th and last character in the Street Fighter V roster, will play a crucial part in the future Street Fighter project, according to Capcom.
Street Fighter 6 appears to be a hybrid of the fourth and fifth installments, based on the artwork. For the first time in twenty-five years, Street Fighter faces the present without Yoshinori Ono, who left Capcom in the summer of 2020.
In the new teaser, the Capcom team did not reveal the release date or the platforms on which the next installment would be released. So stay tuned and we’ll let you know when we learn more.
