There are more ways to watch legendary Studio Ghibli films thanks to new digital rentals.
GKIDS has announced the release of digital rentals for Oscar-winning animation house Studio Ghibli films in the United States and Canada. Films are available to rent in both English and Japanese languages on most major digital platforms including Apple TV, Amazon, Vudu, Google Play, and Microsoft Store.
The Studio Ghibli catalog is available to rent digitally in HD for $4.99 per film. You can also buy digital versions via Amazon and the Japanese import Studio Ghibli Movie Selection DVD set from Playasia.
This marks the first time Studio Ghibli films are available for digital rental in North America. This follows GKIDS’ release of the full Studio Ghibli catalog for digital download-to-own for the first time in 2019. Additionally, GKIDS launched an exclusive US streaming deal with HBO Max for the Studio Ghibli library in May 2020.
