After the fall of E3, many gamers were left wondering what would happen this summer. However, Geoff Keighley is here once again to save the year with Summer Game Fest 2023. This year’s edition is going to be a blast!
This Thursday, June 8, Summer Game Fest 2023 will take place. An event full of conferences with announcements from more than 40 companies in the industry. In addition, legendary franchises will make their return at this event with exclusive gameplay reveals!
Summer Game Fest 2023
Summer Game Fest 2023 will be held on June 15 and promises to be one of the most important events of the year for video game fans. As announced by Geoff Keighley, the event’s host, and organizer, the gala will last two hours and will feature three to four “pretty big” announcements of highly anticipated games.
One of those announcements will be that of Mortal Kombat 1, the reboot of the mythical fighting saga being developed by NetherRealm Studios. The game will be officially presented at the Summer Game Fest 2023 gala with a trailer that will show its gameplay, graphics, and some of the characters that will be part of the roster.
Mortal Kombat 1 will be a return to the origins of the franchise, with a more realistic and violent style than previous installments. The game will feature a story mode that will narrate the first Mortal Kombat tournament, as well as online and offline multiplayer modes. In addition, the game will have a fighter customization system that will allow fighters to modify their appearance and abilities.
Rumors
Another announcement expected for Summer Game Fest 2023 is the awaited Half-Life 3, the highly anticipated sequel to Valve’s saga that has been in development for more than a decade. According to rumors, the game will be a technical and narrative revolution that will take full advantage of the possibilities of virtual reality and the Source 2 engine.
The other two rumored announcements for Summer Game Fest 2023 are those of Grand Theft Auto VI, Rockstar’s new game set in Vice City and featuring a female protagonist; and The Elder Scrolls VI, Bethesda’s new game set in Hammerfell and featuring a revamped combat system. Both games would be released in 2024 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
