Sunsoft is back with a digital event later today

Retro publisher and developer Sunsoft is back with a new event.

The publisher of NES classics like Batman, Spy HunterAero the Acro-batBlaster Master, and Uforia: The Saga is back. Founded in 1978, Sunsoft just announced that it is hosting a new digital-only event on its YouTube channel.

Although the company re-released several of its games on the Wii Virtual Console in the mid-2000s, they have not released a new title in over twenty years. During the event, it’s expected that they will unveil plans for several upcoming games. They are expected to release sometime in 2022 or 2023.

“Although we have been quiet for some time, many things have been happening behind the scenes,” said Sunsoft General Manager Yuichi Ochi. “We are very excited to be able to finally share our vision for the rebirth of Sunsoft with fans old and new.”

Fans can catch the event on the company’s YouTube channel at 1:00 PM Pacific Time.
