A modernized ’90s platformer? This is what Pixelgogo offers us with its new demo of Super Catboy.
Assemble Entertainment and Pixelgogo announced today that a fun-filled demo of their new game, Super Catboy, is available now at the Steam Next Fest. The news was revealed by a unique teaser that portrays the fun of this 16-bit pixel art platformer as if it were a Super Nintendo commercial.
A fluffy action platformer
Super Catboy creates an interesting gaming experience, combining its nostalgic style of high-bit pixel visuals with current, fast-paced run-and-gun tactics. To take down the villainous Dr. Ungefug, the two unlikely heroes are armed to the teeth and journey across a range of dangerous biomes to fight their way past swarms of vicious canine warriors.
In this high-action adventure inspired by the “best in show” platform games of the 1990s, the team will confront waves of furry adversaries as they travel through cold mountains, deep and deadly woods, and lonely factories.
The adventures of the eponymous Catboy and his sassy companion, Weapongirl, will be explored in this funny action platformer with claws, which will be released this summer. In the summer of 2022, Super Catboy will be released on PC via Steam and GOG. If you want to test out this platformer, there’s a new demo available on Steam as part of the Steam Next Fest.
