SXSW is the latest convention to cancel over coronavirus concerns

SXSW

The annual SXSW conference has been canceled due to a disaster declaration in Austin, Texas related to the spread of coronavirus.

The conference has ballooned in recent years and attracts professionals from film, music, and video games. Last year, the event drew over 400,000 visitors over the course of two weeks. This year’s event was planned for March 13 through 22.

The SXSW Gaming Expo was planned for March 19 through 21. It was supposed to showcase gaming culture, including two different game-related films. The screenings were for Insert Coin and Console Wars.
