For the first time on vinyl and it sold like hotcakes!
If you are between the ages of 25 and 40, you have probably enjoyed the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This classic cartoon of very special heroes defined the childhood of many. And so was the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game!
That’s why everything related to the original game released by Konami sells like hotcakes! And surprisingly, Ship to Shore Media and Limited Run Games have released the soundtrack of the original game. The album is called “Secret of the Ooze”. What’s so amazing about that? It sold out in less than 24 hours!
Turtle power!
What a great time the ’90s were for video game fans! From home consoles to arcades, we all enjoyed the games that defined our childhood. One of them? Konami’s original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game.
This, combined with the popularity of the cartoon and comic book, has made it a cult franchise. So, anything that comes out related to the first TMNT editions sells very quickly. And Limited Run Games and Ship to Shore Media knew this very well.
A unique collaboration!
These two companies have teamed up again to release the popular “Secret of the Ooze” soundtrack from the original 1989 TMNT game. The surprise of this collaboration, however, is that for the first time ever, the soundtrack is being released on vinyl.
And no, it’s not on regular vinyl. As usual with Ship to Shore Media, the vinyl features a unique and very distinctive TMNT design. The vinyl glows in the dark with a radioactive green color that looks like something from the sewers of New York City.
The collaboration was announced less than 24 hours ago via Twitter. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan community was very interested. That’s why, as usual with merchandising from this franchise, it sold out!
However, it is important to note that since it was a limited edition, there were not many units for sale. In the same way, a large part of the community is clamoring for a second drop of the vinyl. But at the time of writing, Ship to Shore Media has not commented on the matter.
