Tekken 8 Steam page goes live

Tekken 8 product page appears on Steam

Bandai Namco’s upcoming fighting game just got listed on Steam.

We already knew that Tekken 8 was announced, but things just got more real. There’s a new Steam product page that just went live today. It allows you to wishlist the game and get notified when it launches.

The page is light on details, but it notes that the game is “coming soon” and requires a 64-bit processor and operating system. That’s obviously not a lot to go on, but it is something I guess?

The original Tekken game was released in arcades back in 1994. A year later, it came out for Sony’s new PlayStation console, which at the time was fiercely competing with the Sega Saturn and Nintendo 64.

The most recent game in the franchise was Tekken Mobile which is no longer supported. The most recent console game was Tekken 7 for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It’s also playable on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S via backward compatibility. Tekken 7 has sold 9 million copies since its launch in 2015.

Announced during September’s PlayStation State of Play presentation, Tekken 8 is built from scratch in Unreal Engine 5. The graphics left us nothing less than speechless. Bandai Namco Studios is developing the title with Katsuhiro Harada as the game’s director.
