The Anacrusis, a new game from Stray Bombay, will be available as early access, or preview, on PC and Xbox Game Preview in January. Experience a futuristic Left 4 Dead-style co-op experience.
This is a cooperative first-person shooter for four players that is set aboard a huge starship abandoned on the outside of known space. Players will explore The Isolode, a gigantic luxury spacecraft stranded and packed with aliens, with up to three pals or AI allies.
A sci-fi coop shooter
As the game’s sophisticated Director 2.0 throws tasks at you based on your gameplay, survive waves of adversaries with an arsenal of vintage sci-fi-inspired weaponry, opulent offensive gear, and uncovered bonuses. The Early Access and Game Preview period serves as “season zero” for The Anacrusis. It introduces the first act of the story, the first wave of alien adversaries, and a vast range of weapons, armor, and perks that players will need to survive.
“We’ve built a core game that we’re really thrilled to share with the community. The Director 2.0 is able to push players of all skill levels to their limits, universal cross-play lets people play with their friends on all platforms, and Game Pass lets us reach a much larger audience than we could otherwise,” said Chet Faliszek, Stray Bombay Co-Founder and lead developer on the Left 4 Dead series.
“We’re really proud of the first three episodes of the game, which we’ll be releasing in January, but we want to integrate the community’s feedback as we finish the first season and beyond,” he added.
The Anacrusis launches on January 13, 2021 on PC via Steam Early Access. It’s also coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Xbox Game Preview. The game will fully launch on Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store, and Xbox Game Pass.
