Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja remake announced

Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja

French publisher Microids has announced the return of another classic video game series. Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja, a classic Japanese brand from Data East, will make its grand return to video gaming with a remake coming to PC and consoles next year.

Joe & Mac will come back to life thanks to Mr. Nutz Studio, the same studio that is working on another old-school revival in the form of Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All.

More ’90s classics are back!

Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja is an arcade/platformer that was first released in Japan in the early 1990s as an arcade game. It may be played solo or collaboratively. This new edition of the game, which we discussed before and is being created by Mr. Nutz Studios, will encourage players to travel back in time to the Prehistoric Age and embody the Prehistoric Men, who are prepared to go to any length to save their tribe’s women.

A unique remake is expected, since the game will contain a number of new elements, such as an original adventure mode with all-new stages. Despite enhanced visuals and adaptation to modern games, the French company retains the spirit of the classic Japanese title.

“It’s a real honor to offer gamers the chance to rediscover these characters that marked their generation. We have full confidence in Mr. Nutz Studio to bring these little prehistoric men back to life,” says Stéphane Longeard, CEO of Microids.

Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja will be released on consoles and PC in 2022.
