The Elder Scrolls Online: Waking Flame

The Elder Scrolls Online: Waking Flame just launched on PC and Mac. It’s coming next month to consoles.

Although it may not seem like it, the fan base for The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) is getting bigger and ZeniMax Online Studios continues to deliver DLC, increasing the amount of content to stratospheric levels.

Today, Bethesda announced the release date of the new DLC for The Elder Scrolls Online: Waking Flame on consoles along with update number 31.

Update 31 is full of visual upgrades

All 19 million ESO players can expect Update 31, a base-game upgrade that will bring a slew of bug patches and performance improvements, as well as new houses, furnishings, and house guests available in the in-game Crown Store.

Dynamic resolution scaling is enabled for Performance Mode on Xbox Series X|S and PS5, scaling resolution between 1080p-2160p on Xbox Series X and PS5 and 1080p-1440p on Xbox Series S. All platforms save the original PS4 and Xbox One receive a new HDR setting as the default with the Waking Flame DLC.

A completely redesigned environment that maintains the intended aesthetic of the game’s original artwork while making use of the greater range. For players who enjoy the way ESO currently appears in HDR, that setting will be retained under the moniker “Vibrant.” The render multithreading setting, which debuted with Console Enhanced in June, will be available on PC via a new opt-in beta setting, with the goal of increasing frame rates.

Two new dungeons

The dust has cleared after the events of The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood, but Mehrunes Dagon’s machinations continue in its wake. The Elder Scrolls Online: Waking Flame DLC will provide two new four-player dungeons, The Dread Cellar and Red Petal Bastion, as his dominion grows.

As part of the year-long Gates of Oblivion narrative, the Blackwood Chapter confronts players with uncovering the region’s daedric machinations and despotic ambitions. Discover the link between these conspiracies and the Prince of Destruction’s terrible intentions for Tamriel.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Waking Flame is already available on PC and Mac but will be released on September 8 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. The Waking Flame game pack is available for purchase through the in-game Crown Store and is included for all ESO Plus subscribers.
